上课铃刚打响，高老师神秘地对我们说：“今天我们要做一些有趣的科学实验，看谁的观察力最强!第一个实验的名字叫‘神奇的水’。”我们一个个瞪大眼睛好奇地望着老师。

高老师举起两杯水说：“大家请看，我左手拿的是一杯普通的水，右手拿的是一杯神奇的水。”又像变魔术似的拿出一个鸡蛋来，“首先，我把鸡蛋放进普通的水中，大家看有什么现象发生?”高老师边说边做。

“鸡蛋下沉，水位上升了!”我们齐声说。

“大家继续看，现在，我把鸡蛋放进这杯神奇的水中，大家看有没有什么变化?”

“有变化，有变化!”

“啊，鸡蛋浮起来了，鸡蛋浮起来了!?”

“水也上升了，可是只上升了一点儿。”

同学们七嘴八舌地喊起来。

“老师，为什么会这样啊?”我百思不得其解，不禁问老师。

“同学们，其实，这杯水就只是一杯盐水而已，因为盐水的浮力大，所以鸡蛋就会上浮。”

i am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

but one hundred years later, the negro still is not free. one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languished in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

in a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable rights" of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." it is obvious today that america has defaulted on th
